On June 6, 2016, the Louisiana Physical Therapy Practice Act was amended to allow patients “Direct Access” to Physical Therapy services. This means that you do not need to possess a prescription for physical therapy to benefit from our skilled services. In other words, you are not required to see your primary care provider or specialist before seeing a physical therapist. We are now able to evaluate you, determine if you need physical therapy, and implement a treatment program…ALL without a referral!
